In 2005, Café Rivense del Chirripó was founded by Isabel Rojas and Régulo Ureña, a small family-run farm located in the southern region of Costa Rica, within the Brunca area and the small community of Chirripó. In 2019, Isabel achieved 20th place, while Régulo earned recognition in the Microlot category and secured a position among the Top 10 in Costa Rica’s Cup of Excellence (COE), making Chirripó one of the most distinguished micro-lot regions in the country.
The farm is managed sustainably, with a strong focus on reducing its environmental carbon footprint through proper shade management, enriching the soil with organic matter, maintaining ecosystem stability, and implementing responsible waste management practices. Herbicides are only used in selected plots with heavy weed growth, while all water sources on the farm are carefully protected and preserved.
